We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This page explains what data is processed when you visit this website, and for what purpose, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider (STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany), which processes technical access data on our behalf. Each time this website is accessed, the following data is automatically recorded in server log files: browser type and version, operating system used, referring page, date and time of access, requested page, and the IP address of the accessing device.

This data is used solely to ensure the technical operation and security of the website (e.g. to detect and defend against attacks) and is not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The hosting provider retains unabridged IP addresses for a maximum of 7 days for the purpose of detecting cyber attacks; after that they are irreversibly anonymized. Server log data (access statistics) is retained for a maximum of 6 weeks and error logs for 5 days.

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider. Processing takes place on servers within the European Union; no personal data is transferred to third countries outside the EU/EEA.

3. Cookies, local storage, and tracking

This website does not use cookies, analytics tools, or third-party tracking of any kind.

If you select a language using the DE/EN switcher, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so that the site opens in the selected language on your next visit. This storage is strictly necessary to provide a function you have explicitly requested and therefore does not require consent (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). The stored value contains no personal data, is never transmitted to us, and can be deleted at any time via your browser settings. If you do not explicitly select a language, nothing is stored in your browser.

4. Contacting us

If you contact us by email or telephone, the personal data you provide (such as your name, email address, and the content of your message) is processed solely for the purpose of handling your inquiry and any resulting communication. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, where your inquiry relates to a (pre-)contractual matter, or otherwise our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in responding to inquiries. This data is deleted once it is no longer required for these purposes, unless we are subject to statutory retention obligations; German commercial and tax law (HGB, AO) may require business correspondence to be retained for up to ten years.

Providing your data is neither legally nor contractually required and is voluntary; without it, however, we cannot process your inquiry.

5. Your rights

Subject to the conditions set out in the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • request confirmation of whether we process personal data concerning you, and access to that data (Art. 15 GDPR);
  • request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR);
  • request erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR);
  • request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
  • receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 1.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority competent for us is: Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany, www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de.

6. Right to object

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you which is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR). If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims. Please send your objection to the contact details in Section 1.

7. Automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

8. Data protection officer

We are not required to appoint a data protection officer under Art. 37 GDPR and § 38 BDSG. For any data protection questions, please contact the controller named in Section 1 directly.
